Preventive & General Dentistry

A preventive dental treatment schedule can keep your teeth and gums healthy for a lifetime.

Professional Teeth Cleaning

We recommend that you get your teeth cleaned by a registered dental hygienist 2 times a year in order to maintain good oral health. A teeth cleaning appointment is when your hygienist removes surface stains, plaque and tartar from tooth surfaces. Then your teeth are polished and flossed. They are also able to look at your gums and teeth for signs of disease and decay. Cleanings help to prevent cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal disease

Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are thin, plastic coatings applied on the chewing surfaces of teeth to prevent tooth decay. The sealant quickly bonds into the depressions and grooves of the teeth, forming a protective shield over the enamel of each tooth. Sealants can be reapplied if necessary.

Home Care Instruction

We will help you with your home care regimen so that you can keep your teeth and mouth healthy between appointments because it takes more than professional cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Dental X-Rays

We use dental X-rays to evaluate aspects of your oral health that can’t be seen on the surface. X-rays are used with low levels of radiation to capture images of the interior of your teeth and gums. This helps to identify disease and decay at their earliest stages. We use digital X-ray technology to provide instant images of your teeth.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is very important for healthy teeth. Fluoride treatment may offer benefits to those at risk of tooth decay. It can help protect your teeth and may be recommended for both children and adults.

Patient Education

We want you to feel confident in taking care of your dental health. With so many products out there, we can help you know how to use the ones that will best treat your dental needs. Whether it’s a certain toothbrush, toothpaste, or how to properly floss, we want you to have the knowledge you need to succeed. We will do all we can to educate you regarding your individual needs so that you can feel confident when it comes to your oral health.

GENERAL DENTAL TREATMENTS

Sometimes dental issues cannot be prevented.
Below are common dental treatments that we currently offer in our office.

FILLINGS

This restoration treatment will repair teeth that are decayed, cracked or fractured. When you come in for a filling we remove any damage and fill it with composite or other materials. Any composite that we use will be matched to your tooth color to ensure a restoration that looks natural.

CROWNS

A crown, sometimes known as dental cap, is a dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth. We offer tooth-colored crowns that blend in with your natural teeth.

TOOTH EXTRACTIONS

A tooth extraction means to have a tooth removed, usually because of disease, trauma or crowding. You can learn more about your options for replacing missing teeth on our Restorative Dental page.
